More than 175 application titles for Macintosh have been introduced by
third-party software developers since iMac was announced on May 6.
Developers introducing new Mac OS titles include: Adobe Systems,
Blizzard Entertainment, Disney Online, Eidos plc, Feral Entertainment,
GoLive Systems, Intuit, The Learning Company, Lucas Learning, MacSoft,
Mattel, SegaSoft, and Simon & Schuster Interactive.

[8] Final MRJ SDK 2.0.1 Release Available

The MRJ Software Development Kit (SDK) is a set of Java development
tools for use with Mac OS Runtime for Java (MRJ), Apple's Java
execution environment. This release includes updated versions of the
Sun JDK tools and JBindery. The user interface in JBindery has been
simplified, making it easier to package stand-alone applications. Also
included are MPW scripts, an MPW tool that gives you access to some of
the JDK tools, and SimpleRunner, a JManager 2.0 code example derived
from the Apple Applet Runner.

[9] Java Tool News: Imperial Software Technology

Visaj 2.0 is Imperial Software Technology's major new release of its
visual application builder for Java. Written entirely in Java, Visaj
2.0 runs on most platforms, including UNIX, Windows NT, Windows 95,
and Mac OS. It incorporates an extensive level of support for Sun's
Java Foundation Class (JFC) Swing components, a new set of layout
editors, an image editor, graphical "hot-wiring" of events, and
JavaBean serialization.

[10] Apple WebObjects Customers Top 3,000

More than 3,000 customers have purchased the latest version of Apple's
application server software -- WebObjects 3.5, a tool for building and
deploying Internet-based application solutions. Leading organizations,
such as Adobe Systems, Standard & Poor's, and the U.S. Department of
Defense, are using WebObjects to create powerful Internet, e-commerce,
human resources, and asset-management applications. Apple has
announced that WebObjects 4.0, expected to be released later this
year, will debut on Apple PowerPC processor-based computers, in
addition to the currently supported Windows and UNIX platforms.

[11] Webmaster Tools: Tenon Intersystems, Neuron Data Systems, Catara
Software

WebTen 2.1 is Tenon Intersystems' upgrade to its industrial-strength,
Apache-based web server for Power Macintosh computers. WebTen 2.1 can
sustain 1,000 hits per second and is 100 percent compatible with HTTP
1.1. It includes DNS, multihoming (for uploading web content one
virtual host at a time), NFS (for offloading content), and SSL 3.0
(for supporting e-commerce with multiple secure certificates on a
single machine).

for use with WebTen. This new search engine can search through many

[12] iMac to Ship on August 15

During MACWORLD Expo, Apple announced that its highly anticipated iMac
consumer computer will debut in U.S. stores on August 15 -- right on
schedule. Apple also announced that a variety of popular consumer
software will come bundled with the iMac and that, by to popular
demand, all iMacs will ship with a 56-Kbps modem.

[13] Leading USB Vendors Commit to iMac

Leading peripheral vendors have announced that they'll deliver
Universal Serial Bus-based disk drives, printers, scanners, digital
cameras, and game controllers to support Apple's innovative new iMac
consumer computer. The Universal Serial Bus (USB) allows the iMac to
communicate with these kinds of add-on devices.

[16] Third-Party Hardware News: Keyspan IR Card

The Keyspan IR Card is a PCI card that enables a Macintosh computer to
communicate through infrared signals with TVs, VCRs, DVD players, CD
changers, and other home theater components. The Keyspan IR card opens
the door to creating Macintosh-controlled home theater and home
automation solutions. Evaluation units will be available in mid-July
with final product shipments in mid-August.

Apple has expanded the services of its popular Apple Store for
Education to include customers in K-12 and higher education who are
purchasing equipment for personal use. Now faculty, staff, and

can benefit from Apple's education prices when they purchase through
the Apple Store.

[18] A Banner Ad Exchange Program

World Without Borders and MacSeek Xchange have joined forces to create
MacPromote Xchange, a great way for web sites dedicated to the Mac OS

can be changed at any time.
