Bob Nunn: Haven't put it on yet. Don't like to change when I am going out of

Rusty Tucker: I'm also looking for GIFs that are numbers in the "Odometer"
style for my Java applet.

Rusty Tucker: The future holds a better email interface for TF User
Rusty Tucker: in the long term, I'm keeping my eye on "Gecko". If that
develops according to plan, it would make a nice HTML control for TF.
Rusty Tucker: Gecko is the open source HTML rendering engine for Mozilla.
Donald McHose: I was wondering if you were keeping an eye on that dev.
Donald McHose: I was wondering what impact the AOL deal would have on its
future.

Rusty Tucker: Me either MF -- too many crashes with the counter cgi

Rusty Tucker: Java has a similar problem on the Mac, it doesn't work or
crashes too many times.
Rusty Tucker: You probably need NS 4 Bob for a newer version of Java
Rusty Tucker: Its either 1.1 or 1.2

Bob Nunn: Perhaps I can pull it in. I don't like 4 it changes the graphics
display to a lower quality.
Rusty Tucker: It also works with the newest MS Explorer
Rusty Tucker: -- check that, I think Explore will sometimes crash on this
applet. Good thing that Java is "safe"
Rusty Tucker: works great from Windows though! Fast and stable

Rusty Tucker: sounds like NS 3 runs Java 1.0x not 1.1
Rusty Tucker: looks like I should change my Counter apple to use 1.gif
instead of one.gif etc.
Rusty Tucker: never mind! already is doing that!
Rusty Tucker: makes it easy to use the WWWebula counter sets. Just drag them
into the numbers folder.
Rusty Tucker: ok -- WWWebula spells them out, mine use the number
Jim Smith: Rusty, can I ask you a programming ? ?

Jim Smith: I am having a problem crashing, out in space someplace, using CW
debugger to test with. It may go thru this same code several times before it
will crash, it's a dialog routine. However it does not always point to the
same line of code, as return point. Do you have some recommendations on some
way to trap this thing?
Rusty Tucker: Are there controls on the dialog?
Jim Smith: Yes
Rusty Tucker: It is a Mac Dialog, not a PowerPlant dialog?
Jim Smith: and 3 popup, Mac dialog, not using PowerPlant
Rusty Tucker: Could be the popup menu crashing. Or, do you have any "User
Items" in the dialog?
Rusty Tucker: maybe one of them does not reset the port.

in Macsbugs

Sounds like it is, otherwise I'd expect a a system error 25

Jim Smith: It for font/size and some others stuff
Rusty Tucker: they are the system cdefs?
Rusty Tucker: I ran into problems with the Popups when I went to CWPro 2.
but that was a powerplant problem.
Jim Smith: No just menu resources
Jim Smith: The original code from Think C work without problem, must be
something in CW
