Subject: barter for 3 macapps that i won
Date:Fri, August 17, 2007 09:06 PM

(sorry for dupe, also posted under 'apps')...okay, so my younger son
and i recently entered this geeky mac contest with a ridiculous video
(embarrassed to even link to it here, but it was really funny)...at any
rate, we won! the prize included 23 software applications for the mac
(some really awesome ones too)...

of course, i already owned a few of these and so would love to trade
them to some other fellow mac user at a value of about 2:1 (meaning 170
bucks worth of apps for my own wishlist which comes to about 90 bucks,
or even just 2 of the 3 apps which would put it at 60)...technically
the easiest way that i see to do this is have the interested person
actually purchase the apps and then we'd trade serials or unlock codes,
though maybe it would be easier some other way, and i'm certainly open
to discussion...

at any rate, the 3 apps that i have include:

parallels.com - this is not licensed by name, just an unlock code that
they emailed me, but i had already purchased it so it's not activated
netnewswire - an amazing rss app for mac, but same as above (i already
owned it, uses just a number to unlock so this is also not activated)
norrkross (.com) norrkross movie - this is an amazing movie editing
application that puts imovie to shame, support for compositing, tiling,
layering, advanced effects - i actually was a beta tester so i already
had a license, so what i'd do is send the new unactivated one and then
ping them (founder) to have him change whatever email is used to
activate
parallels retails for about 80 bucks, norkross for 60 right now (on
promo this week, usually 70) and netwnewswire for about 30, so 170 total

what i'm hoping to acquire in return is a new copy of:
cssedit (from macrabbit, an amazing css editor)
visualhub (like a commercial version of ffmpegx, easier to use and automate)
simplemoviex (an awesome alternative to quicktime pro with support for
more formats)
simplemoviex is about 30 bucks, as is cssedit, and visual hub is 23
bucks (odd price, i know) - so about 83 (hence the 'about 2:1 ratio')

if this is of interest, please let me know. i'm really not looking to
'make money' on this by any stretch of the imagination, i just hoping
to turn the software i already have into software that i don't have but
want ;)
