/Users/"your account"/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iPhoto.plist in 10.5.4, iPhoto 7.4 I expect it's the the same in 10.4.11 Anyway, a search on "iPhoto" as part of the filename would have found it for you.
I'd move it somewhere, not just trash it, just in case something else vital breaks and you need to return it temporarily. I'm an accomplished pessimist, mind you.
