One of the great things available to those of us that have convenient access to an Apple store is the Genius Bar, something I frequently avail myself of, and which until now has been able to provide an answer to a presented problem. But today that changed.
The problem I presented was how I could use my Sony 1080 capable videocamera as an alternative video input for iChat. When I took the camera and my computer to the Genius Bar I was told that until Sony provided the appropriate driver that what I wanted to do was not possible.
When I came home I yet again connected the camera, but it suddenly occurred to me to try to set the camera so the resolution was for "normal" video and not "high resolution" video. And, guess what, everything worked!
Hey, its fun to outdo the genius! :-)
