i really have a mess here. no one seems able to help - this is a desperate attempt:
**i need to disable the ENTER key on the G3 powerbook.**
it's placement means i frequently mistakenly send out emails or do other enter functions when i'm actually trying to hit the space key. apple says look for third party software, but i haven't found any... ANY IDEAS????? i love the rest about the computer, but this problem is critical and embarassing enough that it's pushing me away. - ----------------------------------------------- John Halbig (650) 470-0959 direct john@garage.com (650) 470-0950 main http://www.garage.com (650) 470-0940 fax We start up startups.

This tidbit is from:
Joseph Talcott <mailto:"JTalcott@compuserve.com">
I travel to Singapore very often and have shopped at the incredible Funan Center, a shopping center with 8.5 floors filled with virtually only computer stores. However, over the past two years you had to search to find any Mac hardware or software. One lonely place, Mac Shop, kept the brand barely visible. Until iMac. I visited again today and was amazed to find the iMac displayed in about one in every three shops. Even those not selling Apple were using it to demonstrate Mac software. An amazing transformation! - ----------------------------------------------- John Halbig (650) 470-0959 direct john@garage.com (650) 470-0950 main http://www.garage.com (650) 470-0940 fax We start up startups.

This follow-up is from:
Mac-arena <mailto:"macrulez@softhome.net">
I send out all my PRs a few days early, to help account for the waiting period associated with the crowd of people who post to the EvangeList daily. Problem: I must've sent out all queued message instead of "this message" (if you use Emailer you probably know what I did) sooooo the PR got sent out with the others - minus an URL.
Well, the site is being prepared as I write this, and by the time you read it it *should* be up (having had Tripod and Xoom bust on me, take that statement with a salt mine or three).
So, the URL is/will be <http://www.vallejonet.net/mars> and email is/will be <mars@vallejonet.net>.
Remember, I'll check the email and update the site weekly, if I can. So about every wednsday or so (?) replies will be sent to questions and updates put to the site. Thanks for bearing with me! :) - ----------------------------------------------- John Halbig (650) 470-0959 direct john@garage.com (650) 470-0950 main http://www.garage.com (650) 470-0940 fax We start up startups.

Date: Fri, 11 Dec 1998 13:05:27 -0800 From: The EvangeList Mailing List <evangelist@apple.com> Subject: Tidbit - Becoming Apple-Authorized Self-Servicing Account
This tidbit is from:
Mark Crosten <mailto:"mark@macink.com">
This week's topic at Macink is "Becoming An Apple-Authorized Self-Servicing Account."
The report is available immediately on the front page of Macink at the URL: <http://www.macink.com>
Have you ever lamented the fact that you had to rely on Apple, an Apple-authorized retailer or an Apple-authorized service provider to fix a Macintosh? Have you ever lost valuable time waiting for a warranty repair on a Mac to happen? Have you ever had a technician "fix" a problem and have the problem reappear as soon as the tech leaves? Well, if you meet certain criteria and can spend some money, you might be able to become an Apple-authorized self servicing account. That means you could get the training and certification to perform your own in-warranty and out-of-warranty repairs on Apple branded products for your organization. Think of the time you could save and the hoops you wouldn't have to jump through to get your Apple equipment back on- line.
This report is based on personal experience and Apple documents. If you operate in a deadline-oriented environment, becoming authorized to perform your own repairs on Apple equipment could save you lots of time and frustration. - ----------------------------------------------- John Halbig (650) 470-0959 direct john@garage.com (650) 470-0950 main http://www.garage.com (650) 470-0940 fax We start up startups.
