<<>--IM p[roblem in 3.0 This is not just a problem in 3.0, or the windows software. We're looking at better ways to handle IM's, but I don't expect anything substantially different in the 3.0 release.>>
let me repeat it--when the user is answering an IM, and a second IM window opens up as a result of another IM, that second window cxloses when the user presses the spacebar in his reply window. This has now been confirmed by 3 different users at my site. Maybe they are all doing something wrong--but it is also possible that there is a problem: the software is trapping and responding to keyboard messages in a way that it shouldn't.
I have never witnessed this proble in Mac or Windows software prior to this so I don't understand why you think it is generic.
What I think is that you have possibly not adaquately tested the software with multiple users to see this behavior, since it requires multiple instant messages to be fired at a Windows client machine. I bet if you tried to see it that you might see it. Why not try to make it happen instead of dismissing it as a generic problem?
