The "B" in a software programs name indicates that it is a "Beta" version. This means that it is known to have flaws, but none serious enough to prevent its release for general testing.

3.0b7 is in the process of being tested, and when complete will be free from all known serious flaws. The finished version will be called simply 3.0. This is the one that you should wait for.
