TF User 5.7.2 has many notable "small" mprovements that make it much more useable as an E-Mail client.
As it seems to update the contents of a folder at least in some circumstances while that folder is open in an online session (I noticed this happening when moving a file from one folder to another) I am very tempted to keep TF USer open all the time.
Two things are in the way of this:
- lack of "real" live updating of folder contents when mail coomes in. - a nagging dialog that kicks me out after a period of inactivity.
The former will be difficult - the latter would be a preference setting in one of the preference "panes". The current setting would stay the default method but a power user could change this to "never log off automatically". Todays RAM and server speed resources should really support a dozen or more simultaneous "live" connections. And, for older servers, you might want to include a setting in the BBS Server section that prevents this setting for all (certain?) clients to prevent them from choking the BBS.
