My knowledge of the inner workings is very limited, Rusty would be the best one to respond to questions regarding the limits.

As far as I can tell, the file is a text file that uses tabs to delimit fields, and return to delimit lines. It appears to have the format:

addr<Tab>Username@hostaddress<Tab>Address nickname<tab>0

addr   Daniel_O'Leary@kz.eaze.net  Daniel O'Leary  0

I would not think that moving them around would casue the problem, unless a Finder copy operation somehow introduced a file-level corruption.
