For ever since I upgraded to Mac OS 8.5.1. I have been having continuous crashes with TF server 5.7.1 This usually coinsides with a user accessing the system via a dialup modem. This is REALLY frustrating and it has to stop.
Here is some background info that might be of help.
System: PowerMac 7500 32 MB RAM, VM on; total RAM 50 MB
MAC OS 8.5.1
INTERNAL DRIVE FORMAT: HFS+
I have run norton utilities 4.0 and disk first aide and the drive is righteous.
I have updated the drive in question with Drive Setup 1.6.2.
I have installed TF server 5.7. I made no changes other than those you specified in your install documentation. After I started having problems I updated 5.7 to 5.7.1. The crashes continued.
In this configuration the server stays up for an hour or two and then freezes. I think there is a relationship between the frequency of crashes and modem access.
I used to have the server configured to use a hustler multiple serial port but when the server started to crash I thought that the CSI Init might be the culpret so I disabled it and remapped the modem nodes to the on board serial ports. That didn't help.
Short of reinstalling system 8.1 is their anything else I can try?
