I am running Hotline server colocated with TF server (i the same Power Mac). Because the Hotline is simple, easy to set up and use. There are many Chinese based Hotline servers in Taiwan (about 20). I started up and running my Hotline server yesterday. I noticed a lot of Hotline users came to my server for downloding files and chat each other. For my TF server, it was just a few users and getting less as day goes by. I do not know why people like simple system like Hotline but it works great in some way, i.e., people just come in and grab the files/infos they need and then logout. They even do not remember how great and beautiful the user interface is on the TF side. Anyway, people just like it. I am wondering if there is a TF to Hotline gateway or some kind of software to enable users on the TF side can chat with the ones on the Hotline side? This will make the TF more attactive by chatting with the Hotline users regarding how great the TF is and invite them to take a look for TF. If it is possible, when a TF or Hotline users reflash the user on-line, they can see and chat with each other;-) I also recommend to show the User On-Line dynamically display how many user are on-line on the TF side. Currently, the TF can show the users on-line by reflash it manually. On the Hotline, the users on-line will update automatically.
