I am sure that this is probably obvious but did you change the settings for the Accura when you are using it on the Windows machine?? The settings for most modems to set up a proper default are at&f2 for a Windows machine and at&f1 for a Mac. This changes various settings. at&w will then save the settings to non-volital ram.
The other thing is that many people try turning up the port speed. Selecting 38.4 or 57.6 on a 14.4 modem is a bad idea and while it may work sometimes you usually get more error rechecks than more speed. Set it to 19.2
