What, in any of your experiences, is the best way of letting my small network of users know when they have new mail.

New Email Notification is a feature included in Max TF Utiliies. The user must be logged in to receive notification of new mail with this method.

There is a program called Inbasket Notifier, that would alert the user if any files were in their mailbox. This program is probably not too useful since other files and folders are now normally within the users mail folder. Also, the user would have to have access to the mail folder probably through appleshare which might degrade the performance of the net if too many were sharing.
