Subject: TF 5 timed polling with ISP

We have a question that SI's Tech Support refused to answer me (couldn't find our BBS registered with Spider Island) dispite being given the serial number, IDD faxes from Australia from our Promotions Office/SysOp and Email from our Club's president.

System Info : Mac IIcx with 20Mb RAM, System 7.55, Hurdler with 4 serial ports,
TeleFinder 5.02.

We have tried unsuccesfully to use an ISP to connect to the InterNet for emails and NNTP polling. What we are planning is a 10min polling with a local ISP (which we pay nomial charges, and our own domain name & permanent IP address).

SI Tech Support said that it requires a special patching for this, and refuses to give us the info.

What happened was : TeleFinder BBS fires up FreePPP 2.5v2 (via TCP/IP 1.1.1) to make a connection when Mail Server fires up. We tried dropping to ConfigPPP 1.0 as well, even to MacTCP 2.06. Still it activates the PPP to establish a connection. Is there a way to get around this ???
