I can receive E-mail from the internet but can not send E-mail.

I have looked through the posts here, but none seem to help me.

I have the following:

A dedicated TCP/IP connection via my Ethernet LAN.

TF Server, Mail Server and User Manager are all on a 7100/66 @ 209.153.58.2

Domain names resolved to this address by my ISP's DNS are:

bbs.hopestar-b-cohiper.com
Mail.hopestar-b-cohiper.com
www.hopestar-b-cohiper.com

My router is 209.153.58.1

my ISP mail server (???? ) is mailhost.cin.net @ 204.120.48.3 (I think??)

I received the following error/s in my Mail Server Log:

1/16/98 2:38:13 PM (SMTP Client) Error 2 Failed to open the connection
1/16/98 2:43:14 PM (SMTP Client) Opening connection...
1/16/98 2:43:15 PM (SMTP Client) Send: HELO
1/16/98 2:43:15 PM (SMTP Client) 501 HELO requires domain address

1/16/98 2:43:15 PM (SMTP Client) Error 2 Failed to open the connection

..............

This message continues to repeat every 5 minutes as I have the schedule set for 00:00 through 23.59 everyday. (I have since set it to 00:00 through 00:30 everyday to cut down on it's logging).

the local domain name of hopestar-b-cohiper.com is setup to be the default POP3

In my 'GateWay:Internet:Export' folder, I have a file called B0E517BD, which I assume is the mail that has not been delievered out to the internet.

Please help....

If I have not presented the correct and proper informatiuon for analysis, forgive me as I have an IQ below 90 and have a brain disfunction that prevents me from learning as fast as do others. But, once I learn, I do not forget.

For that reason, I would appreciate a detailed explaination explaining what I have done incorrectly. Please also correct my use of terms, I will take no offense by you so doing. Without correction and criticism, I do not learn.

I have been working at setting up this BBS for 2 years now and feel that I am just about ready to go online; that is, if I can get my E-mail to work.

I take things one step at a time. After getting the E-mail to work, my next step is to connect to TFNET and become part of your community...

This message took me 5 hours to write because of my disfunction. So, if I am slow to respond to your answer, please understand and be patient with me.

If there is any more information that you need in order to help me, let me know via e-mail as well as here.(I prefer E-mail as I sometimes lose track of where I have posted messages).
