I have determined from an examination of bad message samples in several fidonet areas from several different users, using different BBS, and offline reader software, that the problem with incorrectly messages is that the "Message ID" information is somehow getting confused with the "From" information. This particular aflliction even occurs with the Zone 1 echolist robot as you will see in "Bad_Message_2."
I have attached some of these samples to this message to illustrate the problem. The address in the "From" line is not correct for fidonet. In the first example, the from address SHOULD BE
Richard_Town@2:254/235.fidonet
The "From" address should not be:
Richard_Town@570.199906051724.0
In the second Example, the from address SHOULD BE:
Z1B_Operations@1:396/1.fidonet
The "From" address should not be:
Z1B_Operations@570.199907110124
I have also noted that TeleFinder User has lost the ability to save an email as a text file. When I open a message saved to the desktop as a file, only the contents of the body of the message are present. The addressing/date info is hidden in a resource fork somewhere.
