Am I the last TeleFinder sysop still connected to Fidonet using MacKennel?
The problem I reported long ago with grunged message import/export to fidonet is back. RT was going to correct this before bugging out, but I do not think I have a Mail Server version that contains the fix. The Mail Server version I have is 5.7, but I recall that there was a 5.7.3 at one time.
To recap:
I am experiencing a problem with Mail Server (I think) that causes it to occasionally transmit messages with no "To:" field to the Mac Kennel Gateway. I am almost certain that I had some messages in the "Fidonet Import" file that were missing this field prior to the point MK picked them up, but I have lost them over time.
Another problem with Mail Server is that many messages are imported from Fidonet with bad "From:" addresses. The actual address appears to have some unique identifier (which includes the date of the message) appended to it. An example of this taken from an EMAIL looks like the following:
> Message-ID: > > To: > Daniel O'Leary > From: > Seal@1:130/41.0@570.200008061855.00028BD9.FidoNet > Date: > Sun, 6 Aug 2000 02:00:02 > Subject: > Area(s) now available > MIME-Version: > 1.0 > Imported-Via: > /FidoNet > Content-Type: > text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" > X-Mozilla-Status: > 8001 > X-Mozilla-Status2: > 00000000 > X-UIDL: > Seal@1130_08/06/00_1855 > > > > > The following area(s) are now available; you have been linked. > > RADIO_HOBBY-ALL (Echo) > SQAFIX (Echo) > > > --- Seal 0.40 > >
This also afflicts echo conference messages, but I do not have a sample handy.
