When I stated that "I tried echoing those," I as referring to making the attempt on the unix based server. I have now enabled serving "HTML" as "Server Parsed" on the BBS server to see what happens when I try to serve functional code developed on the unix server using the TF-based server. I installed a package of HTML files I created on the unix server that utilize features based upon the code I posted earlier.
The BBS serves up the code for the last modified and date_local variables, but it does not serve up the evaluated DOCUMENT_URI code (all that is seen is the "http://" prefix and the hostname without the rest of the path to the document).
