An FTP plug in would likely handle this demand. I just hope that all those dandy programs that do the auto-updating of web sites are set up to some kind of standards or if and when we get a PI like this, everyone will be whining that TF doesn't support this authoring tool or that.
If for no other reason, this is going to become the net standard of the future. In the early days uploading via Zmodem insured the files got there complete and quickly and was no better or worse than using an FTP program in terms of complexity. With today's authoring software and complex sites I think this will be a future requirement. I know that I personally would like to have it and as you mentioned many people are starting to demand it. I think RT has it on this list now.
