The easy way round this is for your firewall or router to allow the port that Telefinder talks on through (1024 I think without checking).
We have the same problem with our old Netscape Proxy but with later versions you can tell it how to handle different protocols, otherwise every time a new super wizey bit of software came out you would be in trouble. Such as Real Audio hence this was why Netsacpe put this feature in.
I dought very much if Microsoft dosn't have this feature as well and your consultants really should know all this stuff including any work arounds its really why your paying them. Not for there ability to go around installing software on Macs and PC's without any serious configuration anyone can do that.
