Just a note to pass along some info from Apple Tech Support (stuff that you may already know). Open Transport 1.1.2 is available and it has improved a variety of speed related problems for my customers on their AppleTalk/EtherTalk networks BUT it is NOT compatible with NNTP Sucker 1.5.0/.1. Soooooo, if you pull in internet newsgroups, remember, stay with Open Transport 1.1.1. <<
I am SUCCESSFULLY running NNTP sucker AND Network TIme (which used to lock up like "clockwork" when used with previous versions of Open Transport) with version OT 1.12. I have seen all kinds of apps crash over here, including NNTP sucker, but the problems appear to be related to outdated conflicting drivers and extensions, corrupt prefs files, a defecteive Serial Port Arbitor file (#1 suspect according to CSI Techs) and ARA/QDGX that got loaded, not to OT 1.12.
