I am seeing a small number of failed connections on my Telnet nodes. An examination of the log files for the telnet nodes shows the connections to be orginating from different TCP/IP addresses. There is no evidence in the logs of the connecting system's attempts to supply a login name or password.
The number of users actually using Telnet to contact the BBS is small when compared to web access and TF/User logins, and my few tests using Telnet to log into the server from the server CPU are successful, so I do not have a good feel for the reliability of the telnet connection.
