Subject: Where do TF Modem Strings Come

Okay, you got my curiousity up. Just what modem strings are particularly "compatible" with TF, and which ones aren't? What makes those "incompatible"?

I have Modem Shop, and am thinking of distributing it on floppies to new users who have never connected... Any suggestions again for which settings are more compatible with TF, and which make the modem work to the best of it's abilities?

Another perhaps related question... what conditions lead to a message on the server saying "The connection was lost"? I've seen on the other end of the line where the little orange ball cursor keeps spinning, and sometimes the user can't even Cmd-Q, but instead must force quit TF and restart their modem manually.

Thanks for your patience with these questions!
