I just downloaded Modem Shop and tried it. I'm using an Optima 28.8 connected to the Modem Port on a LC 475.
Step 1-Going to the Preferences, selecting Modem Port, Data Bits 8, Stop Bits 1, Parity None and Port Rate set at 57.5, 28.8, 14.4, then 9600. Gave me the same error message after selecting Set Port for all the above speeds. The message said make sure the modem was connected to the selected port and try again. Keeps giving me the same error message and won't let me progress to the next step which is going to the Modem menu.
