For some reason part of my last message did not reach the screen - Full story -

I am using a Global Village Platinum modem with Netscape 2.06 for InterNet and Telefinder 4 on the BBS. This works perfectly with my LC111 system but when I connect to my new Power Mac - Performa 6200 I get problems. I can connect with my local InterNet provider, send and receive EMail and read news groups. However once I attempt to connect to the WWW I am refused with the message that the server does not have a DNS. The only difference between by original and new setup is the computer and the Power Mac versions of the software.(Apple System 7.1.1 on the old and 7.5 on the Peforma. When I reconnect the old system WWW and stability is restored.

Using my local BBS speeds can be around 2500 - 3000 cps which is fine but often it begins at 1000 and drops to under 100. In the past I have been grateful to the sharp minds out there in space so please can you help as Global's promise of a 36 hour reply was two weeks ago.
