I HAD the Gold IIv as well, and decided to go for a Sportster Voice instead. It seems that the IIv is Performa specific and won't work in any other machine. I had trouble only in Telefinder with it. In any other term app, it worked fine, even if I used a Hayes setting. I have learnt one lesson... never get an internal modem again. It might add to desktop clutter, but an external gives you many more options, and is easier to sell when it comes time to upgrade!
