Hi!

I'm hoping to be able to implement an ISDN service line into my telefinder server. I've arranged to have Pac Bell convert one of my existing Analog lines to ISDN. I bought a couple of Motorola Bisturfr Pro Modems, and I already have a pair of hustler cards in my server. The Bitsurfr seems to like the 2 x setting in the hustler card, and I'm almost ready to go. I'm planning on setting up my larger customers with ISDN service, to allow them high speed access, but would like to have the analog access remain. I'm also trying to be somewhat cheap, by dedicating as few phone lines to all of this as possible.

However, several questions remain.

The Bitsurfr (according to it's manual) does not support bonding of the two B channels on the Mac (because this requires synchronous serial ports, which the MAc does not have). Rather it supports AIMux (Asynchronous Bonding), yielding an effective throughput up to 115.2 bps. It also has two POTS ports on the back which are synthesized analog channels (one from each B channel).

The questions...

What set-up strings do I put into the node modem set-up to allow AIMux bonding? Given the nature of the Telefinder Node wait to answer mode, will this forever disable the POTS lines?

I'd really like to have the Bitsurfr on line to answer incoming calls, providing ISDN service if the incoming call is ISDN, and porting the call to the 1st POTS port if it's an analog modem call. This would allow me to plus an analog modem into the POTS port, using another node, and the other available Hustler port, allowing the call to be "Anything" This is sort of what the USR Courier I-Modem, and the ZyXEL modems claim to do internally. I already have a half dozen 28.8 modems, and I hoped I could get some use out of them...

Is this to Machiavellian a scheme? Should I simply buy the USR Courier I-Modem ? I hate to do this, as I always found the US Robotics products to suck.

ANY help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
