Thank you all.I guess I'll run the two utilities till I get one of those fancey power strips,unless we start to crash and burn.I did a remote admin using TB2 last night with no problems for the first time in a while so maybe things are on the upswing.
I honestly would opt for running neither if I had a choice. Like I said I became convinced that autoboot does a little preemptive rebooting. It came up here a couple months back and I decided to test the theory. We have a Quadra 605 that we use as a back up server and workstation. It is on all the time it never crashes-it rarely does much. I put autoboot on it and it rebooted itself almost 20 times in 4 days.
A powerkey is $100 or less. It will save you that much in stress if you pay for it yourself.....
Have you stripped out all those extra extensions? You should strip everything that isn't essential out.
