Like any other program you look at you can consider what it won't do its shortcomings, but then all programs have shortcomings. I have used various versions starting with the old tfemail.acgi all the way up until today. I have purchased two copies now. One for my system and one for the office, but mainly for what it will do. It allows me to check my mail from any net connected system anywhere in the world. I don't offer it to our sales force or my hobby system users as an end all mail solution but rather a supplement. Because I have been involved with HDS early on I was aware of its shortcomings, so I wasn't surprised. I know the problems they are trying to solve for it to handle attachments are not simple and hope that eventually they will work out a solution.
My users both commercial and hobby use a variety of mail solutions. Some are terminal users and the fact that TF and Lynx using HDS mail allow them to have mail on a dumb terminal to most people is amazing. My PC users use Pegasus Mail and most of the Mac users use the TF client.
