I have used it (HDS) for the past 12 months on the distance learning BBS/website at my school and it has never displayed the slightest intimation of instability during that time. There was a minor bug which surfaced with certain incarnations of MSIE--that people received a bogus invalid sign-on message when they attempted to open a piece of mail by clicking on the link (as oposed to using the check box and then using the "view" command). This problem was addressed in a maintainence uodate.

The two most important improvements that I would find useful are:

1) turning it into a generic popmail viewer--don't know how or if this could be done but it would be wonderful to be able to offer people the capability to reach any pop3 server from my web page. As far as I can tell, there aren't any such clients (at least workable ones) out there, software companies understandably wishing to market many individual licenses for individuals instead of one license to a web site that everyone could use. If I were an established software company, I doubt that I would put much effort into something that I would sell 1 copy of per site--if I were an "up-and-coming" company, on the other hand, I would consider this an opportunity.

(BTW--if you or anyone has seen such a thing, please tell me)

2) Being able to attach stuff from the internet. We can receive attachments but we can't send them using HDS.
