I have seen problems on my 8100 with OS9-related file corruption. What I did to configure Suzie one time that was particularly probelmatic is to boot the CPU with extensions off, and run User Manager, then Suzie.
I have also turned off extensions that are apparently incompatible with my system configuration or lower its performance. TF dial-in nodes are incompatible with the Open Tpt Serial Port Arbitrator, and I have also noted crashes due to the Web Sharing, so I disabled both the extensions and the control panels that are associated with them. The items I disabled include the following:
All ATI-related extensions since my CPU does not have an ATI card. All USB extension because my CPU does not have USB. All extensions for printers that I do not have. The only ones loaded are Laserwriter 8 and Color Stylewriter 2500. Desktop printer Spooler and Print Monitor extensions slow down the system Printer Share extension Multi-User startup and Voice Verification extensions Multiple USers Control Panel FBC indexing scheduler extension Font Sync extension. Control Strip extension and control panel. Multiprocessing folder. Video Startup extension (1.7.3). I DO use Video Startup version 1.4.2 because all later versions broke the sound input on NuBus PowerMacs, including mine. Virex Control Panel
