As we come up on our 12th year of operation (March 15, 2001), statistics for the ASTEC BBS as of February 26, 2001 are as follows, collected by Suzie 2.0 and summerized with Excel 8.0:

3/15/89 to date Monthly Average
Number of Calls - 160,256 1112.89 calls
Uploads - 6,802MB 47.27MB
Downloads - 18,740MB 130.14MB
Msg.'s Posted - 4,446 31 Msg.'s
Private E-Mail - 23,768 165 E-Mail's
Total Uptime - 105,088 hrs.
Unscheduled Downtime - 32 hrs.
Availability - 99.97% of the time

While these figures are infinitesimal compared to todays connection stats of many Web sites, it should be remembered that these are direct dial phone calls to the ASTEC Customer Support BBS server, that have been going on since March 1989, well before the Internet caught on and before most ISP's were operating.

Lastly, we are very proud of the "Availability" factor for the BBS, now called QoS (Quality of Service). I suspect that few systems have this QoS level, over such a long period of time. It says much about the stability of TeleFinder and the Mac in a 24x7 support role.

FWIW.
