Last week the BBS primary disk developed uncorrectable errors. All data that was possoble to recover has been recovered and merged into an older backup copy of the system on another hard disk. The file sections should not be affected because they already resided on a different hard disk.
Users are encouraged to verify the integrity of their mail folders, web spaces, and their favorite conferences. Please notify the administration (me) if any problems are uncovered. Steps will be taken to correct whatever problemes arise.
The drive that originally devloped the problems has been low-level formated and tested using standard Apple Utilities. The results indicate that nothing is phycially wrong with the drive, so it wlll be placed back into active service after it is exercised over the next week.
A 5-pack License for Panther has been purchased. The intention is to migrate all the other Macs on the LAN to Panther, and begin work on porting the functions of TeleFinder Server and client to it. Interoperability with Legacy systems not using MacOSX is important, and will be a key objective.
