Default Folder - is a Mac OS 8.6 savvy control panel that enhances Open and Save dialog boxes to make it easier for Macintosh users to manage their files. It provides many of the essential features of the commercial ACTION Files, SuperBoomerang, and Directory Assistance utilities, but distinguishes itself by not including some infrequently used extras. By doing this, Default Folder provides faster, more stable, more memory-efficient operation than competitive offerings. Default Folder is
also the only Open and Save dialog enhancement that is fully compatible with both Navigation Services and "classic" Open and Save dialogs.

finderpop-180.sit 283 Kb May 10, 1999 09:41 AM
FinderPop - is a Control Panel which improves and extends the MacOS 8 Finders Contextual Menus. It adds various submenus to the Finders contextual menus, including a Processes submenu, a Contents submenu (allowing you to see the contents of a folder you've selected in the Finder, a la PopupFolder), and of course the eponymous FinderPop submenu, which displays everything inside a special FinderPop Items folder (much like the Apple Menu displays everything inside the Apple Menu Items folder.) You can put aliases to apps, servers, folders, documents, etc., into the FinderPop Items Folder, and they're instantly available for the price of a control-click in the Finder!
FixedAppleCD.sea 123 Kb Mar 21, 1999 03:30 PM
Version 1.01 of the Apple CD/DVD driver and associated files. The main CD rom driver has been modified to enable it to read non Apple CD players. This version will work with System 8.1 & up. It may work with earlier versions, I have not tested it. Simple unarchive and drag each file to your closed system folder. It will ask if you want to install them in your extension folder which you do. It will replace your originals on some so you may want to manually pull those out before installing. You must turn off or remove all other CD software to use this.

Finally a fix for all the clones and upgraded machines so that you can use the Apple Drivers!

GoMac 2.0.1.sit 1152 Kb May 10, 1999 10:39 AM
Action GoMac 2.01 - adds a Windows-style taskbar to the bottom of your screen, letting you navigate among active applications and launch others from your choice of either the customizable Start menu or the brand-new QuickLaunch area. You may now drag and drop the icons or aliases of your favorite applications, files, or folders onto any part of the taskbar, and the minimized versions of these icons will appear in the QuickLaunch area--not buried beneath your open applications. A click-and-hold action in this area allows you to navigate folder hierarchies, access an item's Get Info dialog box, or remove the item from the area.

This version also expands the usefulness of its taskbar with new Window lists, which allow you to easily bring up any open window on your desktop. Action GoMac is Mac OS
8.5-compatible with its support of Control Strip 2.0, has the ability to access application memory settings from the taskbar contextual menus, includes a Bookmarks folder in the Start menu, and introduces a new Internet Start menu item, which launches your default Internet applications.
MacErrors 2.0.1.sit 152 Kb Aug 28, 1997 09:58 AM
MacErrors v2.0.1
~~~~~~~~~~~
MacErrors is a small application that shows you the result code and description for all of the Macintosh system errors. I got tired of looking up errors in a scrolling list DA so I wrote this program. Just type in a valid error ID and press <return> or <enter>. The result code and description will be displayed to you. You can also increment and decrement the current error code using the arrow keys.
If you have the Speech Manager installed you can have MacErrors speak the error description to you! After entering an error code, choose "Speak Error" from the Sound menu. You may also choose to have MacErrors speak error descriptions to you automatically whenever you enter in a new error, by selecting "Auto-Speak Errors" from the Sound menu. I made this a non-persistent option because it could be quite annoying if it was on at the wrong time.
PopChar 2.72 - This is PopChar version 2.72. PopChar is a control panel that simplifies "typing" of unusual characters. Click the PopChar icon in the menu bar, select the character you want, and PopChar automatically inserts it in the current document as if you had typed the proper key combination on the keyboard. This version contains online help, and is now truly compatible with TrueType fonts, and also works with WYSIWYG and MacPluses. After two years, a new release of PopChar is finally available. The following problems have been corrected in this version: PopChar no longer crashes when used with a QuickDraw GX font. PopChar now correctly recognizes dialogs without editable text fields. PopChar now shows the correct font when editing a table in WriteNow. PopChar no longer crashes in ClarisWorks when no windows are open. PopChar was renamed to PopChar Lite.
PopChar Pro 1.1.2.sit 1221 Kb Oct 29, 1998 09:11 AM
PopChar Pro - is the successor of the freeware control panel PopChar Lite by Guenther Blaschek. PopChar Pro extends your menu bar with a menu that shows all characters available in the current font. Select a character from that menu to "type"
it into the currently edited text. PopChar Pro is distributed by UNI SOFTWARE PLUS. This submission contains the PopChar Pro Installer that will ask for a serial number. If you don't have a serial number, the installer will create a full-featured but time-limited demo.
sherlockcomplete.sit 477 Kb Mar 12, 1999 03:02 PM
Sigerson 2.0.sit 651 Kb May 10, 1999 10:35 AM
Sigerson 2.0 - allows you to create and save Sherlock sets. A set is a snapshot of the on/off state of various Sherlock plug-ins. In this way, Sigerson gives you a quick way to access preconfigured settings for specific types of searches, which comes in handy if one Mac has multiple users. Sigerson does not move the Sherlock plug-ins, making it possible to operate Sherlock with your correct set of plug-ins turned on, without opening Sigerson every time. Sigerson also provides an easy way to turn on or off all of your Sherlock plug-ins and access information about them. This free public beta allows you to sort your plug-ins by category, to hide deactivated plug-ins, to edit your plug-ins from within Sigerson, and to lock your sets. It supports the drag-and-drop installation of any plug-in or folder that contains a plug-in, improves its management of corrupt plug-ins, and offers a QuickLoad Screen and better theme support.
stuffit-expander-5.1.3.sit 655 Kb May 10, 1999 09:39 AM
StuffIt Expander 5.1.2 - if you are already using StuffIt Expander 5.1.2, the main reason you would want this optional upgrade would be if you use Microsoft Internet Explorer as your web browser AND you want to change the default settings for the way StuffIt (.sit) and Private File (.pf) files are handled after downloading.
typeit4me-4.7.0.sit 156 Kb Apr 14, 1999 01:31 PM
TypeIt4Me 4.7.0 - Anytime you enter text in your Mac by typing it at the keyboard, TypeIt4Me can help you do it faster and more accurately. First you define a number of abbreviations and the full text entries that they represent, then you watch the Mac expand them on the fly even as you continue typing! If this sounds a lot like Word's AutoCorrect feature, it's because it does very much the same thing. However:
TypeIt4Me works in every application and TypeIt4Me has been around years before Microsoft added AutoCorrect to Word.
