July 29, 2008--SEM 1.0.2 (Supercomputing Engine for Mathematica) creates a standard way for each Mathematica kernel in the cluster to communicate directly with every other kernel by utilizing Message-Passing Interface (MPI) specification.
As a result of the collaboration between Advanced Cluster Systems, LLC (ACS) and Dauger Research, Inc., SEM enables Mathematica to be combined with Dauger Research's Pooch (Parallel OperatiOn and Control Heuristic application) clustering technology.
By running gridMathematica with MPI technology, its power can be integrated with Pooch's ease of use and reliability in high-performance computing. This new technology will further enhance the power of both clusters and gridMathematica for SEM users.
SEM works with gridMathematica and Mathematica Personal Grid Edition to provide supercomputing capabilities to users in a wide array of research and industry fields.
