You can already do this inside applications that support it, however
the finder will not display them correctly. Even if you were to patch
all of the file-handling routines that work with FSSpec's (the standard
way that older mac programs specified files), you would crash pretty
much every program out there, as you overwrote memory (programs
expecting shorter names wouldn't allocate enough memory to hold the
longer ones.
