The freshest 2.3 Sheepshaver for MacIntel and HC 2.4.1 too. I use a Mac OS 9.0.4 with them.

Yes, I have test that this morning with a fresh special standalone stack, and I have the same behaviour: OK on my iBook G3 under Classic, and the "cursor problem" under Sheepshaver.
