if 10.3.4 and os9 are on separate disk partitions, you can hold down
the option key to bring up a selector. then pick osx, and once it
boots, be sure to set it to always boot osx via the startup disk system
preference panel.

if both systems are on the same partition, try holding down the x key
while booting. that should force it to boot osx that one time.
