be *sure* whatever you get is a full retail copy and not a machine specific copy that was bundled (unless of course, it was bundled with the exact ibook you have). otherwise, it won't work.
that ibook can boot os 9 and osx 10.1 and later. you have 10.3 on there now which should be fairly cheap.
