Woah, Nelly! Hang on!!! The 2x500MHz board came from another mac, the Gigabit Ethernet model. That mac doesn't work though. On a side note, I installed Mac OS9 with the 2x500 CPU, and now I can't boot into OSX with the original! A circle with a line through it (a "prohibitory sign", according to Apple) appears.
Let's start from the beggining... Gregory> OSX 10.4 "Tiger, the latest version that will run on this computer without hacking the CD. When booting, a black rectangle unfurls from the top of the apple logo to the bottom. Don't get the spinning bars.
Mike> Don't know the brand, came with another mac.
Gregory again> It ain't an update card.
Mike again> Good guess... CORRECT! DING!
Now I just want to get back to OSX with my original CPU board!
