That's another possibility if all else fails....
I'd have to restore more than just those mailboxes, 'tho,
probably the whole Library file for Mail.

I've got a temporary workaround:
I set up a Rule (filter) at the end of the Rule sequence that puts all
mail that hasn't been picked up by another Rule into a mailbox named
'NEW'; effectively bypassing the Inbox.
Works so far.
