Reinstalled Networking/File Sharing/printer driver s/w: no change. Swaped cabled: no change. Phone calls to Opus2: no change. Went to TwoMacsandAPrinter and found a suggestion (as a last resort) to ZAP the PRAM: IT WORKED! Still working for over a week!
