Well I figured out how to get a counter up using spml! Make sure your personal homepage is named homepage.spml

Add the following, (copy and paste) wherever you want the count to appear:

You are visitor # since September 26, 1996

You would of course change the since date. The count command produces a file called homepage.cnt. The include file makes it read the homepage.cnt file. No cgi crap and no complex set up! No registration, goodbye Count Webula!

If you check out headgap.com homepage you will see that I have added a magic 8 ball. This is entirely spml driven. In the same line click on the SPML link to learn more about spml and how you can make your web pages dance!!! You might also notice that the top 10 uploader files now has the date and time that the file was actually modified. Susie runs every 4 hours if I remember to start it after a reset. SPML allows me to read the file date and time of the last file change and print it to my page. Cool and powerful stuff.
