Hmmm that sounds a little fishy that you should HAVE to use the .spml extension and the name "Homepage.spml" for your WWW page. I've NEVER seen a single web page with this naming scheme, but I have seen several www pages with text-based counters.
Is there not a way you can just put a link in your "homepage.html" to an .spml file such that every time your WWW page is hit, it also hits the .spml file, thus increasing the counter and displaying the results on the www page? Also, does the TF server recognize the "homepage.spml" file as the default WWW page, or do you have to sacrifice that ability (you know, so you can just type in <http://www.headgap.com/~wintermute/> instead of having to type in <http://www.headgap.com/~wintermute/homepage.spml> ?
I don't mean to sound angry (which is what it kinda sounded like when I re-read the above)....it just seems a bit odd to me that it should have this limitation. These are Macs...there has to be an easier way! *grin*
