I have been using Magneto Opticals for a long while now. We have just switched from the 650 meg to the 1.2 gig opticals (I even have one 2.6 that we use to archive whole catalogs). The drives are wonderful for our large format graphics. We store our product images which range in size from about 3 meg all the way up to 20 meg for a 1/2 page shot on these disks and we transfer our catalog pages to the color separator using this technology. I would have probably bought the jazz drives if I had to do it today but for the time and the price per meg the optical technology is wonderful. They say the disks have a shelf life of 40 years +.
