Where did you get it? Through MacTech or through Code Warrior? I'm going to try and get this today. Anybody seen the issue of MacTech laying around?
<<<

I've got a MacTech subscription...

That is pretty darned cool. Reminds me of the Amiga a little bit. I don't think it could do live anims while dragging, but it's about the same level above what everyone else can do that the amiga was back when I got mine. (Cool machines...maybe Apple should have bought the code for AmigaDos and Workbench....there is a good number of programs available for it, it's a BLAZING fast OS and well-tested as well :))
<<<

Except of course, the Amiga OS is a pile of crocks, that are so tense they would explode before being shoehorned into a new OS. :)

What are some of the rough edges from what you've seen? Have you been able to get any of the programs from the net working OK? 8-bit video support is a bit wanting, but still, it's a cool OS.

Oh, it all seems to work. I had a little trouble with trying to find some libraries for a CodeWarrior project I was testing, and never did get ANSI library routines working with about 10 minutes of playing. The interface has menus in windows, _sometimes_, and sometimes not. It makes a certain amount of sense when you use it a bit, but hey!

The email client is somewhat strange as well..

Oh yeah -- they make minor use of a second mouse button apparently, so I couldn't play mines, 'cause it would recognize the TurboMouse's second button.

I thought they were able to play QT movies without any problems?. The thing that's holding it up from my perspective is that it doesn't support serial I/O yet, which keeps you from using all that power on the internet (at least that's what I've read about this release). Bummer.
<<<

They've just got code working for playing Cinepak encoded movies, and apparently not as an operating system service either. QuickTime has a whole architecture built up for doing lots of media-related things that's quite impressive. Of course it would be even more impressive if it ran on a PMT system, since you could probably get smoother frame rates, while doing other tasks, etc..

The serial support, and "advanced gamekit support" (whatever that is) are missing. I was the net via a dedicated ISDN connection, so I got to play with their little web browser. Actually quite decent!
