- Added a "View Profile" button to the User List and Users Online windows. If a user has a file called "Profile" a folder called "Pub" within their mailbox, this file will be displayed. Requires TF/Server 5.1.
- Added preference under the "Chat" menu to toggle whether the user shows up as "Available" for chat/instant messages. This feature works with all versions of TF/Server, however TF/Server 5.1 is required to be able to change the setting online, and to be able to use Chat Rooms when unavailable.
- Added Sysop feature for "invisibility". If you logon to TF/Server 5.1 or later with the option key down, regular users will not see your name in the Users Online list. This is useful if you dont want users to be able to see that you're online. This feature will ONLY work if you have the "Make Changes" privledge. Also, if you have "Make Changes", then you'll be able to see all users who are logged on, regardless of whether they are using stealth mode or not.
- If you use the option key when pressing return in an instant message window, it will enter a carriage return instead of sending the IM.
- The list topic headers window has been redesigned to be easier to read and faster to use.
Improvements:
- Adds growbox and zoomboxes to Users Online, Users In this Room, User List, Address Book, and Topic Inbox windows.
- User interface improvements for the Instant message windows. Both are now resizeable and contain scroll bars.
- Incoming instant message windows are now staggared.
- Address Book and Topic Inbox windows are now sorted
- Changed the topic scan window to retrieve messages by date rather than by number. This way, if the topic changes... if messages are added or deleted, the scan window will still retreive the correct message, even though the number might have changed.
- Modified the funtionality of the Address Book. The "Name" field is either a user name or a nickname. The "Email Addresses" can be a single email address, or multiple addresses up to 255 characters. The 255 character limitation may be removed in a future version.
- Changed TF/User so that if an error sending a message occurs while sending a file attachment, the file attachment transfer will be cancelled.
- Changed the way that GIFs and PICTs are closed so that the system palette will be restored immediately.
- The "Open Transport TCP/IP" will show up as disabled if OT is not available or you are running TF/User on a 68k PowerMac.
- Changed the Mail Outbox so that it no longer keeps retrying to make a connection when attempting to deliver the contents of the outbox. Usually the contents are unable to be delivered because of a wrong name/password. It doesn't make sense to keep retrying under this condition.
- Changed TF/User to recognized RFC822 messages as text based email.
- Changed to use the System 7 methods of icon drawing.
Bug fixes:
- Changed the way that text/messages are opened online to fix an incompatibility with 2-byte character sets
- Fixed an incompatibility with the Apple Modem Tool and other connection tools that display windows.
- Fixed a bug that caused TF/User to fail to properly save styled text files and messages when running native for PowerPC.
- Fixed a bug that displayed an error message when saving an empty address book.
- Fixed a bug that would draw the window background PICT over the window header in some cases.
