A must read article, "Is your computer millennium ready? Find out" By Scott Gerlach <http://biz.yahoo.com/finance/980507/is_your_co_1.html>. It talks about the year 2000, and here is what it says about the Mac.
"Apple (AAPL - news) Macintoshes and compatibles have been ready for 2000 since their genesis, in 1984. Interestingly enough, however, current Macs will have trouble in the year 29940 -- keep that in mind if your business plans extend 28,000 years or so."
Shame on Apple.
You would think that they would have had the foresight to plan for the year 29941

Advanced Gravis wants to know if you, the Mac Community, would like a Mac version of our GamePad Pro.
The GamePad Pro revolutionized the PC game pad market with the advent of 10 programmable buttons and an 8-way directional pad. We wish to bring the same features to the Mac.
The results of my poll will be reviewed by Gravis Marketing and the Development team. This is something we want to do, but we need your support to make it happen.
If this is something you would like to see, send an e-mail to <fred_buecker@daytimer.com> <mailto:fred_buecker@daytimer.com> with the subject of "MAC GPP - YES!" I will filter out any duplicate e-mail addresses, so please try not to mail bomb me :-)
I've been asking for this device for over a year, and now we have a chance to make it happen.
Thank you for your support in this matter,
Fred Buecker Supervisor, Gravis Technical Support

Hello, my name is Chris Cox. I am the webmaster of The Mac Hangout website (www.machangout.net). This morning I posted a library of 47 images of the new iMac computer from Apple. I would really appreciate it if you would post this into your news.
Thanks, Chris Cox www.machangout.net __________________________ Digital Guy Sez:
When I dropped by to check out the site, there happened to be a banner ad for the VW Bug...with the slogan "Drive Different".
Right on. :-)

Hello all!
I'm a webmaster for a large Internet site here in Boulder Colorado and have just come back from the Netherlands (Amsterdam, specifically). If you've never been, it's a grand place -- the Venice of the North -- with an amazing mix of new and old style running through it's progressive veins. I'm hoping to move there if I can and find a web development position (so if you are reading this and want a web guy with 5 years of experience...seriously!)
So it was a really a wonderful sight to see that on my second day there (Monday after Easter) the town was loaded with Apple "Think Different" posters - the original campaign with Picasso, Henson, Callas and Hitchcock, who had center stage in from of Amsterdam's Centraal Station. It looked great, all those black & white posters along the streets and buses... seemed to fit the city better than most advertising!
The only problem I encountered there was finding a Mac Internet cafe - there are dozens of them, but all seemed to be entirely Windows based. Does anyone know what the Mac contingent is like there? I want to head back in a few weeks, see if I can do the interview thing and find a position, but I'd prefer to find a cafe where I can plug-in my Powerbook, or better, hook up with other Mac users. Any suggstions?
Thanks!

What has to be one of the silliest bit of spam I've received in quite some time (it actually made me laugh out loud :), I just received a message with the subject (and this is a direct cut and paste: "RESERVE YOUR COPY OF WINDOWS 98 TODAY!". Ouch, You don't have to shout you know.
Anyway, without any comment whatsoever, here is the message in question (names blocked to prevent rampant EvangeLista revenge :):
10 reasons why you should upgrade to Windows 98:
1. More of the features you want! - Windows 98 contains the components that thousands of end-users have said are most important - all on one CD.
2. A more stable platform! - A completely rewritten System Information utility gives Windows 98 the most complete picture ever of the exact state of your system.
3 More usable disk space! - FAT32 (a true 32-bit File Allocation Table) makes more efficient use of your hard disk so you can store more files in the same amount of space.
4. Faster operation! - In Windows 98, the memory management and cache modules are fine-tuned to give you optimal performance.
5. Faster, easier start-up! - Automatic agents make booting up and solving boot-up conflicts simple and virtually automatic.
6. Gives you control of your notebook! - If you bought your notebook computer within the last year, you'll experience major improvements in performance with Windows 98.
7. Double the size of your desktop! - Windows 98 supports simultaneous use of multiple monitors so you get more room to work.
8. New features for dial-up connections! - The Windows 98 Control Panel offers you a slew of new utilities designed to help your computer get along better with your telephone.
9. TV on your PC! - Support for TV reception is an integral part of Windows 98. With a TV reception adapter card, you can watch broadcast or cable TV on your PC.
10. Universal Serial Bus (USB) - Offers true plug-and-play convenience. It's never been easier to add peripherals to your PC. Windows 98 makes it almost automatic.
