We are proud to say that IBVA Technologies, Inc. <http://www.IBVA.com>
was selected to exhibit its Mac only brainwave/computer interface
product, The IBVA System, to attendees of the Next 20 Years show
(www.next20years.com) in New York City on June 16th! A showcase of
technologies that will be integrated in our future.

We hope to show all that the Mac can do that no other platform can.
Controlling video games, QuickTime movies, Infra-red devices, X-10
devices, etc. via real-time brainwave activity!

Wish us luck!

Subject: ?? - Help With BAYER Kodak File Format

This request is from:

George K. Diversiev, <gdiver1@uic.edu>

I have a high speed digital video camera that I am using for some
research. The Kodak allows recordings of up to 1000 frames per second.
However, Kodak only allows the recording to proceed using their own
proprietary image format: BAYER. Has anyone ever heard of this? The
machine also allows downloads of the TIFF image format but the recording
must be made using the bayer format and then translated which is like
doing the work twice. I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of a stand
alone Mac application that would translate this image format (if it is
not a well guarded secret) into TIFFs or anything that is a bit more
familiar and friendly. Of course, I will be willing to summarize any
responses that I receive.

This tidbit is from:

Graham Dombkins, <gaffa@ozemail.com.au>

A great story, relayed to me recently by my mother.

She had been baby-sitting 2 of my nephews, both aged about 3 years, while
my sisters were out. As is normally the case you *know* when things are
a-foot when all sounds of play go quiet. All that was to be heard was the
sound of giggles coming from the direction of the computer room. Over the
last few years I have managed to help my folks and all my sisters get
their own Macs and they have become much loved household additions in all
families. Anyway my two nephews had managed to get into the computer
room, start-up my folks PowerMac 6100, open the web browser, get on-line
and navigate via bookmarks to their favourite web page, The Wiggles
<http://www.thewiggles.com.au>!!>

Sometimes Mac's are just too easy to use. :-)

"Is the iMac Available Now?!?"

By Jonah Jones

"OK. Gimme a second to collect my thoughts. If you hear a sound, don't
worry, it's just me blowing my mind. Here I was, idly browsing
Mac-related sites, following an interesting link to MacMall,
and....SEEING THE IMAC ON SALE ALREADY??!!"

Digital Guy Sez:

Over the last few days I've gotten several dozen inquiries, both in
e-mail and face to face, from people insisting that the iMac was already
gone on sale. What this article neatly illustrates that on-sale and
avaialable for sale are two very different things. In other words, no,
it isn't here yet, and won't be until August.

Subject: ?? - Ultimate Evangelista Challenge

This request is from:

rcsup-sand-bus, <buster@sandridgecreative.com>

I have been presented with a challenge that is a little outside of my
area of expertise, but I know that the combined intelligence of the
'Listas can solve it.

I am one of the owners of Sandridge Creative (which, strangely enough can
be found at www.sandridgecreative.com) and we have been approached by the
owner of a radio station (sorry, can't say who yet) that would like the
ultimate radio station web page. This all Wintel station is convinced of
the merits of the Mac (security, speed, and reliability) for the solution
to the problem, and I don't want to let him down.

The problem? He would like to take interactivity to the next level for
radio stations, and let the "surfers" on that station's site be the ones
to program the station! Killer idea, but the hard part is making it a
reality.

What program would work best to serve up a 1,200 item song list? The
other hitch is that the Mac must also talk to a "proprietary system" that
already runs that station, and insert the requested songs into the
rotation. I don't know what kind of system it is, but it sure wasn't
Windows or Mac. :-)

Anyway, all help pointing me in the right direction will be appreciated
immensely. As far as I know, this would be the first broadcast radio
station in the country to do this, and I - along with all the 'Listas, no
doubt - would like to see it Powered by Macintosh.

Thank you - in advance - for all the help

This tidbit is from:

Paul Shields, <pshields@cyberramp.net>

The Dallas Morning News has generally provided very weak coverage of the
Mac platform. But on Thursday they had an article on Y2K issues which was
very positive about the Mac and Apple. They repeatedly stated that Mac
users would not have problems, and PC users should be afraid.

Here is the link and title of the article

"Year 2000 bug no problem to many PC users"
